how it all began

Amanda began to run competitively as a junior in high school, and not because she loved it, but because of

her coach. In fact, she tried to quit a number of times.

She couldn't wrap her head around the idea of putting

her body through continuous stress, pain and exhaustion. She was caught skipping practice and her coach would

find her and drag her from the bleachers of the men's basketball game down to the track. She learned the

most crucial lesson that would shape her entire career...

QUITTING WASN'T AN OPTION.

WHY? BECAUSE SHE HAD SOMEONE WHO BELIEVED IN HER.

the journey

Amanda's gratitude for her own coaches inspired her to become one herself. She fell in love with the journey, which meant falling in love with the less glamorous parts: frustration, sickness, injuries, and failure sometimes. After running all four years in college and leaving with school records under her belt, she continued to run because she

had a taste of possibility and all that came

from hard work and dedication. Now she was able to see what she couldn't in high school:

Amanda moved to NYC in 2019 with the goal to move, to teach movement, and to MAKE MOVEMENT FUN. After taking too many Barry's Bootcamp classes to count, she became obsessed with the workout. It made her feel like an athlete again. She loved the physical and mental changes she saw, and craved to be apart of it from within. She took her running knowledge to teach group fitness classes to her Barry's FitFam in Westchester and followed that dream to New York City. Barry's created a larger vision for her and what she saw possible for her own fitness outside of just running, and she knew that was the feeling she wanted to create for everyone who walks into the red room. Since

then, she has further deepened her relationship with fitness to create that same experience in a 1:1 setting. New York City allowed

Amanda to form more connections than she ever thought possible.

Amanda found a new home, community, and a career for the long run.

I know that a committed relationship to your fitness is exhausting, and that it might take an extra push to get out the door some days. I promise you, it's all worth it for those moments you feel freaking awesome. I want to help you feel and see what I didn't see at first, but now am living out. The rush of positive feelings that follow you through your daily life outside of fitness. When you (and I) push you beyond your comfort zone.

Whether you're a complete newbie, looking for a personal best time, or have your heart set on a new distance, Amanda is your girl. With over 10 years of competitive running and racing experience, Amanda will explain the ins and outs of a proper warm up, cool down, drills to improve stride, and the many methods of keeping your muscles well balanced and injury free. Amanda's knowledge of running has her properly equipped to answer all your gear, nutrition, and cross training questions.

Amanda specializes in helping aspiring runners feel more confident in their stride. Her personalized 1:1 Run Coaching is designed to meet you where you're at and get you where you want to be. Her coaching methods are designed to be attainable - and more importantly sustainable - with consideration of demanding individual lifestyles.

1:1 Run Coaching with Amanda caters to a first time lace-up and an avid racer. All ages and all levels of experience are welcome. Run sessions include the following:

 

  • Personalized structured training

  • In depth learning of proper run form, mechanics, breath work, and post-run recovery

  • Interval workouts to build speed and endurance

  • Dynamic warm ups and cool downs

  • Mobility exercises to prevent injury

  • Optional race schedule and strategy

  • Mentoring and dialogue with Amanda outside of your session to hold you accountable

 

Amanda's run coaching is offered in person or through a detailed individualized program to make each run intentional. Many opt for a hybrid approach of both services. This is dependent upon on how much support you seek in your training.

As your training with Amanda develops over time, she will identify your fitness milestones and continue your fitness journey by setting new goals for you to crush. Amanda wants movement to stick, becoming something you genuinely enjoy. Becoming passionate, disciplined, and consistent about your body is the her ultimate goal for you. A positive mindset and attitude about movement plays a crucial role in sustainable results. 

 

If you're not seeing results in your own workouts, don't know where to start, want to learn to workout on your own, want to beat the boredom of your own, need to be challenged, are training for a sport/event, or have a specific injury or you must train around or for, personal training with Amanda is the perfect solve. Having supervision, company, and support during your workouts is sometimes all you need to keep yourself accountable and motivated to show up for yourself.

Amanda's personal training service engages clients in their own calculated exercise disciplines. Training techniques will vary based on each person's individual objective. With a mix of cardio, body weight exercises, and weight training,  

Amanda will find what’s best effective for you and your concerns, while keeping you challenged and motivated for more.

 

Amanda brings both academic and athletic credentials to your training session. She will formulate your fitness strategy based on your answers to a number questions about your lifestyle, diet, occupation and medical history. By understanding your current state of fitness, she can perfect and tweak your training as necessary.
